Lindsey is joining our team in April 2009 as a dental therapist. She qualified in December 2008 at Cardiff University.

Lindsey believes in 'no stress' dentistry and specialises in Paediatrics.

Lindsey is avaliable for appointments on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Dr Mitesh Badiani

Mitesh has been the Principal of both Ashburton and Plymouth practices for over 14 years. In the last year he has acquired practices in Bovey Tracey, Totnes, Portland and Hay on Wye.

His vision was to create a patient journey which represents a high standard of care and service from the first time the patient walks into the practice right through to the treatment received in surgery and post-treatment communication.  This high level of patient care has been created at the Devon Dental Centre of Excellence. Mitesh is proud of the team which has followed his ethos of putting the patient first.

He is also proud that he has assembled a team of highly experienced specialists which enables patients to be treated ‘in-house’ rather than be referred to either Bristol or London.  The Centre in Ashburton is, in fact, one of only a few practices in the Southwest that offers many types of dental specialist under one roof.

Devon Dental Centre of Excellence has become increasingly successful at providing a variety of post-graduate courses. Mitesh’s vision is that it continues to develop over the next few years and, in conjunction with Professor St John Crean, becomes an internationally recognised post-graduate learning institution.

Mitesh has also been active in supporting overseas communities.  He has set up a charity hospital in Gujarat in North West India that currently treats general patients as well as provides eye surgery and dental treatment. He is also involved in setting up a charitable dental unit in Uganda.

Mitesh is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Warwick as part of the post graduate implant dentistry programme.

He has a special interest in:

• Dental Implants (tutor for Warwick University and mentor for "Ankylos" Implant System)
• Cosmetic Dentistry (training done at Louisiana State University in New Orleans under the guidance of some of the top US cosmetic dentists)
• IV Sedation (for nervous patients)
• Hypnotherapy (for patients with a phobia of needles)

Dr Badiani is member of British Dental Association, Association of Dental Implantology, British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Emma Birtwistle

Senior Dental Nurse

Emma joined the Practice in 1999 and qualified in 2002.

Emma has been a dental nurse for over 11 years, and has gained her radiography qualification. She has considerable experience in assisting with general dentistry, oral surgery and the more complex procedures including placement of dental implants.

She has trained many new dental nurses over the years and has been fortunate to work in various dental practices around the country giving help and support to the dental team. For many years she was the course coordinator for a recognised implant training  course in the South West.

Jacqueline Kareh

Holistic Health Practitioner

Born near Cambridge, Jacqueline trained and worked as a general and psychiatric nurse in Edinburgh. After an extended period traveling and working her way around the world, Jacqueline settled in Germany for almost 15 years and developed her work there.

For almost thirty years she has studied and practiced a wide range of therapy forms, energy work, healing and complementary medicine, as well as nutrition and holistic lifestyle counseling. She brings all these skills and techniques into her work as appropriate.

Amanda Smith

Practice Manager

Amanda has been part of our team since 2006. She joined the practice as a part time receptionist and aromatherapist. She has been involved with all aspects of the practice, proved to be a huge asset to the team, and working closely alongside Liz her clear dedication earned her the promotion to Practice Manager at the end of 2008. Amanda had achieved Management and Team Leading NVQ's. Amanda encourages all team members to fulfil their potential by continuous personal development, all team members also take CPR (emergency life support) training annually.
